Prior Assignments

Detective assigned to the Specialized Investigations Division, Sheriff’s Headquarters.  My primary responsibilities included investigation of Crimes Against Children. I investigated over 500 cases of serious physical abuse of children with great bodily injury or death, sexual exploitation and abuse of children. These cases included child rape, torture and incest. 

Tracking and personal contact with PC 290 registered sex offenders, investigation of registration compliance offenses.

Investigated online offenses of sexual exploitation of children, possession and distribution of child pornography and online predators. Conducted sting operations involving online contact with children for the purpose of a sexual encounter. 

 

These investigations included over 40 fugitive extraditions from 28 states.

I have testified in court as an expert in the physical and sexual abuse of children, child pornography and erotica. 

Member of the California Sexual Assault Investigators Association.

I have instructed child abuse investigations and search warrants at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s advanced and basic academy and several additional venues on this subject.

 

Detective and assigned to the Barstow Station. My duties included investigation of all major felony cases.  These cases consisted of assault with deadly weapons, armed robbery, burglary, child abuse, elder abuse, auto theft, complex fraud and identity theft to name a few.

 I was also assigned as the Search and Rescue Coordinator and managed many search missions to include cave and mine rescue.

Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Big Bear Station.

These duties included general patrol activities. I was assigned to a traffic unit for two years where I investigated traffic accidents, made over 500 DUI arrests and participated in special traffic assignments to include saturation patrols in several different jurisdictions. Served as a Gang Officer and Bicycle Patrol Officer.  Served as Field Training Officer.

 

MILITARY

August 1976 to September 1979

Served in the U.S. Air Force, Security Police. Assigned to Vandenberg AFB as a Law Enforcement Specialist. Worked Base Police, Base Entry Control and Missile Site Security requiring a Secret Security Clearance.  Wheeler AFB Hawaii, Base Police and Entry control.

Received Expert Marksman Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal.  Honorable Discharge.

Most Notable Cases 

I was responsible for the conviction of many offenders. Two repeat offenders of child molestation, resulted in the sentence of over 1255 years to life and 755 years to life.  This case included multiple child victims.  I have investigated sexual exploitation of children over the internet and conducted several sting operations resulting in multiple arrests. Two separate cases of murder, where the suspects were sentenced to life for physical abuse of children resulting in death.  I was responsible for the manslaughter conviction of a subject who’s Pit Bull dogs attacked and killed a 10 year old a neighbor boy.   I investigated a missing person case and paper tracked two suspects around different parts of the country.

After their arrest, the body of an elderly neighbor was located. This resulted a life sentence for murder.

Identity theft and credit card fraud resulting in the recovery of $40,000 in new merchandise. Both suspects sentenced to State Prison
